Skin Remembers how to Heal
A few weeks ago 100 writers wrote to breath and the lungs. Then we broke into small groups. I’m so excited to invite you to write together again to heal the body, exploring touch and skin – skin our boundary maker, shivering skin that says YES! In this unprecedented time, when we are asked to say no. Story can bring us together, closer than ever before. I’m hosting this event for all my writers, all my friends and family and people going through the myriad of emotions.
Dorianne Laux, award winning poet, author and professor, will be opening the class with a reading. Her poetry addressed skin and touch and love. She is the poet Queen of the Body.
Stories of skin and touch open us. This class is available all writers, even if you keep telling yourself you are not a writer.
We will write together and share in smaller groups with authors, therapists and writers who know how to deeply listen to your story.
An online class especially designed to help us write about our skin and touch, lack of touch, or too much touch.
CLASS DATE: April 10th, Friday
SIGN UP BY: April 8th
TIME: 4 p.m. PDT / 7 p.m . EST
We will all write together, in Zoom, after hearing inspiration from literature written about touch and skin.
Writers are already sharing in our Facebook Group, and stories of skin will be added to our stories about the lungs.
We will continue to support each other through story, until we have moved through this time, holding space for all the changes to come together in our Facebook group, STORYquest.
I hope to see you in the Zoom room in a few weeks.
