Caregiving has so much grief and trauma attached to it, but it’s also rewarding. We were meant to care for each other, and yet sometimes the challenge of caregiving, which includes motherhood, aging parents, friends and partners – can be overwhelming. Elizabeth Becker, interfaith minister and chaplain and daughter of John Becker, turning 100 years old will be joining Laura Lentz and other caregivers to read inspiring stories and invite you to write your own.
This free event is also for people being cared for. It’s not always easy to be on the receiving end of care, knowing the compromises and sacrifices the person caring for you is making. It’s a complicated relationship.
This is a safe space to explore all the emotions and all the stories that come out of caregiving our parents, our children, our friends and our partners.
This is not just for writers – all are welcome, because we have Each Other.
In this two hour class, you will hear inspiring stories, and have the opportunity to write your own, then go into a breakout room to share your story in a small, intimate group with a trained facilitator.
In this event, we will take a moment to celebrate John Becker’s 100th Birthday, who will be attending and giving us a brief presentation and opening prayer.
