May 17th – Aloha ‘Aina – Love of Land

You are signing up for the Saturday, May 17th class.

Length of class: 2 1/2 hours

Culture is inseperable from the land, and to not know the history of the land you live on is to deny your culture and the culture of those who came before you.. The land whispers, it wave to us and it calls us home to our unique relationship to her. Respecting the land and loving the land is one of the most important aspect of our time here. We are sick when she is sick, we are well when we are honoring and loving her and giving back to her.

Oahu born artist Solomon Enos will offer a talk on Loving the Land, and his deep connection to the ‘Aina, and how the land influences his art and story and mythological paintings. Following Solomon’s talk, we will write of our own deep connection to the land, and offer our respects to this earth that has held us.

Time: 10:30 a.m. Pacific time  / 1:30 p.m. EST / 7:30 a.m. Hawaiian time
